Elite Sitters are a special selection of Bambino Sitters. These Sitters have the highest Sitter Stats, are most active on the app, and are all background checked yearly. Meet Elite Sitter Ella from Texas Christian University.

How long have you been a childcare provider and why did you start?

I have been babysitting for 6 years now. I started because I simply just absolutely adore kids. I also want to work as a pediatric nurse once I graduate from nursing school, so being a babysitter gives me great pediatric experience and increased knowledge of the child development stages.

Why do you think working in childcare is so beneficial?

Babysitting is extremely beneficial for college students because you can easily work it around your schedule and pick which days and nights you want to work.
I want to work in pediatrics as a nurse, so obviously I really believe that working in child care is beneficial. I love working with kids because they have a sense of resilience to them that a lot of adults don’t possess. They make the world magical through their imagination and it really makes you look at things from a different perspective.

What advice do you have for a Bambino sitter?

Go out of your comfort zone! Take any sit that you’re available for, even if it’s for more kids than you usually babysit for or younger ages than you’re used to. You will learn so much and grow as a babysitter.

What do you think is most unique about Bambino?

I love Bambino because it is super convenient and has given me so many wonderful families that I have had the privilege of sitting for. I am able to sit for kids of all ages, and families of all sizes, and all are in near proximity to me which is very helpful. I also appreciate how Bambino lets parents give you a rating and recommendation.

What do you do outside of childcare?

I study nursing at Texas Christian University. I am also a member of the sorority Zeta Tau Alpha, as well as the club Student Nurses Association, and the treasurer of Frogs for Pediatrics. I also work at the Student Affairs Office at TCU.

What’s your favorite thing about TCU?

I absolutely love the sense of community at TCU. There is nothing like it. Everyone here wants you to succeed and I’ve met some of the best people here. Their nursing program is also phenomenal and I feel so lucky and proud to be in it.

How did you know you wanted to study nursing?

I got inspired to be a nurse by my mom because she’s also a nurse. I knew I wanted to work in healthcare because I wanted a profession that helped others, but nursing really stood out to me because of the patient advocacy component and how nurses are able to be with their patients in such a sacred space.

If you could watch one kids’ movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tangled, 100%
