How long have you been a childcare provider and why did you start?
I have been babysitting for family friends since I was 14/15. I have been babysitting with Bambino for half a year! I started tutoring kids when I was 13-14 years old and always felt a very special connection with kids. I love babysitting, it’s a fun job.
What is your favorite thing about babysitting?
It’s very fun and you form long-term connections with families. It’s truly a dream job as a college student.
What advice do you have for a Bambino sitter?
My advice is to be patient and spend quality time with the kids. Don’t sit on your phone the whole time or else you’re less likely to get requests and recommendations. Try going the extra mile such as cleaning up after playing or helping with dishes. It’s important to make a positive impact on the child and their family.
What do you think is most unique about Bambino?
Bambino allows families to receive quality child care with easy booking. The app is user-friendly for both babysitters and parents/guardians. I also think it is neat that parents are able to see/ write recommendations.
What do you do outside of childcare?
I am a student at UF. I work around my school schedule. I also love the outdoors and I will play sports or go on a hike any chance I get. I used to be a part-time CNA but decided I love to work with children more.
If you could watch one kids’ movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Encanto!
What’s your favorite thing about your college?
UF is a great school, there is access to unique courses. They also emphasize group work which I enjoy because I have made great friends.
What is your area of study and how did you know you wanted to study that?
Preprofessional Biology. I have always enjoyed science and I will be continuing my education so I can go into the medical field.
