How long have you been a babysitter and why did you start?
I’ve been sitting since 2015. I grew up helping care for my younger cousins and siblings and absolutely loved it, so I decided to begin sitting.
What is your favorite thing about babysitting?
I absolutely love caring for and playing with children and creating connections with them and their families. Along with my part-time job in college, I still make time for sitting through Bambino when I can as I genuinely love the joy they add to my life and hope to add to theirs. My favorite thing about babysitting is when the kiddos surprise me with a piece of artwork they make on their own, and I keep every single one :)
What advice do you have for a Bambino sitter?
Your relationship with the child’s family can be just as important as your relationship with the child. Having a safe, fun dynamic with the entire family makes every visit so fun and enjoyable.
What do you think is most unique about Bambino?
I really enjoy the accessibility for both parents and sitters. With Bambino, parents can easily connect to sitters who best fit their family knowing every sitter is well-qualified and will care for their family. And with Bambino, sitters/students have a safe place to create exposure for themselves as babysitters while also having outstanding features to allow sitting opportunities that meet their schedule.
If you could watch one kids’ movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Coco. I love when the kids sing along, it’s a favorite in so many homes!
What is your area of study and how did you know you wanted to study that?
I am an architecture student at the University of Houston. I’ve always been interested in design since I was a kid and the love for it never left. I’m now a design intern and absolutely love it! And I’d love to design schools one day!
What is your favorite thing about your college?
I love getting to learn how my profession works and seeing my design abilities grow.
Why is babysitting so beneficial for college students?
It’s an accessible way for students to work around their school schedule to make money, grow their work experience, and simply for a fun break from school.
